What is the difference between IVF and ICSI?

The difference lies in the way the ovocyte and the sperm cell are put into contact with each other, the method of fertilization:

IVF = 10.000 sperm cell in a droplet around the egg, they themselves need to penetrate through the peel of the egg to get into the centre and being able to mix their core with the core of the egg.

ICSI = One  manually selected sperm cell will be injected into the inner cell mass of the egg. Then, both cores of sperm cell and ovocyte have to mix and mingle to two new cores (nuclei) of equal size with 2 polar bodies.
